Exhibition Statement:

State to State comprises 17 intensely colored abstract paintings on aluminum sheet metal. Inspired by diagrams of moving light rays, the work explores the subjective nature of perception. The glossy enamel paint and exposed aluminum create a shiny, mirror-like surface which creates a powerful element of inclusion for the viewer and the surrounding environment. This prompts a transition between paint and re ection, alluding to movement between physical and psychological spaces. West facing facade of Woolworths Brunswick, view from Upfield bike path and train line
